Castle of Siklós


siklosivarVisit the Castle of Siklós, one of the best preserved medieval monument in Southern Transdanubia! The place of the shooting of Captain Tenkes, the popular Hungarian television series is a must-see location. The management of the castle – a perfect place for open-air theatrical and other cultural programmes - was taken over by the nonprofit  company called Siklósi Várszínház Kht.  in 2000.

The Castle of Siklós was completely renovated in 2011 and can be visited from 27th May. Its programme offers are enriched with historical, painting, fine arts, renewed permanent and temporary exhibitions, entertainment programmes, classical and pop music concerts, theatrical performances in summer and historical games presenting heroic trials and deeds. During the renovation taking place in 2011 a new centre showing the history of the castle and the life of its inhabitants was also built.

Opening hours:

Friday-Sunday: 9.00-18.00
Sunday-Thursday: 9.00-17.00

Ticket prices:

  • free entrance for children aged 6 or younger
  • students (6-26 years): 750 HUF
  • adults with Siklós card: 750 HUF
  • adults over 65 years: 750 HUF
  • family ticket: 3000 HUF (for 2 adults and 2 children under 18 years)
  • Guided visits:
  • 5000 HUF/group in Hungarian
  • 6000 HUF/group in English or German
